A revolution of common sense?

The solar panel revolution took an unexpected left turn when agenda politics became involved around 2016. Basic common sense was swept aside in the solar industry when big money and top-down power discovered cheap solar panels from China.

A wise Scottish installer best described the problem. He said, “Electrons are like Cats.” Electrons go wherever the food or heat is best.” You plonk a Cat in the middle of a strange field – the Cat gets lost. Therefore, solar panels only work well on a roof, or where power transit is short-range.

When solar farms produce power in the middle of nowhere, they clock up impressive monetary generation figures, but the power generated is diluted on long-range transit. Trump’s recent act to halt America’s green technology revolution is based on common sense and this knowledge.

A political leader acting on the concerns of his fellow human beings is crazy talk – I know. Interestingly, Trump goes right into the heart of The World Economic Boredom annual meeting in 2025 to tell them politely to “butt out of American affairs.” In doing this, he gave European nations a road map back to common sense too.

If only life was that simple. For the symbolically literate, the president’s Eagle’s head in his video background was pointing towards the arrows of war. Understanding the strategic importance of securing Greenland, and previously Alaska originates from Elon’s fascination with the letter X.

The landscape of our time

Yes, the pen is mightier than the sword, as lines on maps can be drawn, but also erased. Treaties can be signed, but also revoked. Agreements that made sense three hundred years ago can grow stale over time, especially if belligerent states refuse to be controlled by a single global central bank. Solar farms will be seen as folly when set against the greater geopolitical landscape of our time.

Green energy beyond immediate local use is nonsense. My archives state clearly “that solar panels are about promoting self-independence in the home or business.” Solar panels are only effective when installed above or beside the actual point of use.

In only ten years, we’ve gone from incentivizing homeowners with a return on their domestic solar panel investment to car manufacturers on the brink of bankruptcy. These crazy policies have no basis in long-term common sense for nations in northern latitudes. Decision-makers of the last decade didn’t consult with ordinary people with knowledge in the field, excuse my pun.

Sadly, solar panels were used to extract from the public purse and divert investment away from real national energy infrastructure. The lobbying began, and a feeding frenzy using the term, “Green” ensued. We witnessed electric vehicles join this frenzy too. I call this the “Quick, everyone please buy a diesel 2.0.” era. Asking any HGV driver would’ve told you this was a ridiculous policy in the 2000s. Never let logic get in the way of investment portfolios.

These solar farms will one day be spent and abandoned, the windmills no longer maintained and/or incentivised. Monuments of the early 21st century that became financially unviable to remove by their new land owners. If the generational farms that they sit upon are abandoned too because the incentives encouraged this, then enviro was mentalism. Words have meaning.

Asking any common-a-garden solar installer would’ve clarified that solar farms go against common sense electrical principles, but payday will always trump logic.

Ay-up, it’s A Eye! Perfectly timed to redraw the lines of perception for the next generations. I guess Hyperborea will remain hidden for another three hundred years.

New world savvy.
