Self-installing with DIY solar panels

      Hi – we can’t claim much in the way of FIT due to the age of our house so looking at a DIY scheme.

      We need to find a suitably qualified electrician – what do we need to ask or see on someone’s qualifications to know if he or she would be up to installing the job safely and correctly?

      Hi Sally

      Even if you’re not going to achieve the FITS scheme, its still best to use a MCS accredited installer.

      DIY is aimed at qualified electricians/plumbers, but not all of these tradesmen would be fully knowledgeable about all aspects of an installation including roofing work and paper work.
