Grid connection

PeterGuestI have a garden office that is connected to the grid via an armoured cable from the house. I’m thinking of putting some panels on the roof as its south facing.
Can I connect to the electricity supply in the office, or do I have to go back to the meter in the house ? -
StuartGuestHi
Yes your correct, you’d have to connect to mains board, rather than the spur connecting to your office.
Ground-mounted panels away from the main property are around, so your set-up type may not be a disadvantage.

PeterGuestThanks Stuart,
The office feed is direct from the main consumer unit, not a spur off a ring main.
It’s a single circuit with its own breaker.
There is a small consumer unit inside the office to distribute to a power circuit and a lighting circuit.
Does this change anything ? -
StuartGuestNo worries.
Sounds more viable now, but would get a local installer to confirm.
Good luck.
